Five Doctoral Schools support doctoral students during their research training at Ghent University: Arts, Humanities and Law; Social and Behavioural Sciences; Natural Sciences; (Bioscience) Engineering; and Life Sciences and Medicine. The Doctoral Schools have a three-fold mission: 1. Support doctoral students during their doctoral research; 2. Stimulate the quality culture in doctoral research; 3. Promote the doctorate’s international and social image to potential researchers and the job market. The Doctoral Schools organise a wide range of labour market initiatives, amongst which the annual interuniversity Job Market for Young Researchers, preparing doctoral students for their future careers.
